Our Story
Frontline - where quality comes first second and third.
Our Story - an Australian tradition
Frontline's journey started three decades ago, in 1987, when Peter Farrugia and Jeffery Verhagen teamed up to create a small campervan conversion factory in Castle Hill, Sydney.
Peter still runs the business today after Jeff decided to practice what he preached a few years ago. He now travels Australia sending some great photos and traveller reviews along the way, while Peter remains committed to building excellent quality campervan conversions.
As a skilled tradesman with a love of the outdoors, he’s a dependable, straight-talking guy, and the business reflects his ethos. He and his highly trained professionals are in it for the journey and destination.
Taking pride in every vehicle, wanting to see every customer come back with a story of their adventures. So Frontline sticks by you wherever you go, promising friendly, trustworthy service no matter how old your Frontline Campervan is.
Quality time in the factory delivers quality times on the road.
Frontline only works with the best in the business. Our focus is exclusively on the VW T6.1 Transporter with its European styling and finish, galvanised body and All-wheel drive option. Or Toyota’s long-lived Hiace with its new wider body and legendary reliability. Or Renaul Trafic with it’s European driving dynamics and outstanding fuel consumption.
We are equally careful in choosing and training our staff, who often work their way up from apprentices to highly skilled craftspeople. Our factory has a dedicated training room, and our in-house quality control and documentation ensure a first-class product every time. We only use tools and machines from world-leading manufacturers and use top-quality components.
30 years ahead of the competition
Since the 1980’s years, Frontline has expanded to become Australia’s leading campervan conversion specialist, with 4000 vehicles delivered over the years.
This occurs in a large, modern factory in Brookvale on Sydney’s beautiful northern beaches. It’s equipped with high-end European cutting and forming machinery to create flooring, roof extensions, joinery and cabinets consistent with the company’s commitment to ‘factory quality conversions’.
Each conversion is carefully thought through and proven over time as the business is focused exclusively on VW T6.1 Transporter, Toyota Hiace and Renault Trafic vans. These offer flexibility and rugged reliability to go distance camping in Australia.
The company produces three VW T6.1 Transporter, Toyota Hiace H30 6 Gen or Renault Trafic campervan conversions a week.
The fully trained, qualified team prides itself on top-level engineering compliance. Physically testing all aspects of the conversions to enormous strengths to certify safe design. Meeting the Australian Federal Government’s Department of Infrastructure approval for volume manufacturing.
